Life Is For Everyone!What is the most fun group you have ever been a part of? I loved when I coached Lacrosse this past year; it was a group of crazy boys with lots of testosterone and energy beyond measure. It challenged me, stretched me and grew me beyond measure as a coach and a father. A good group does that!
Small groups at Harmony are not new. We do believe that they are the key to significant growth in each believer’s life. So we are urging everyone to step into a group this year for yourself and your family. We notice that the early church met in small groups and that it was vital for all of them as they stood for Christ and strove to grow deeper in him. We also see Jesus in many small groups as he ministered to the world. He met with just John one on one. He met with Peter, James and John and he met with the 12 continually. All different sizes and all for different reasons except one – to challenge his followers to grow.
Ask yourself a tough question. Why not a small group for you this year? Maybe you don’t want people to know you better. You might be busy or overworked or not enough time. You may not feel like you would connect with anyone or with any purpose. Now ask yourself another tough question: what if you had been in a group this year. Time spent reading God’s word together, asking questions, praying for one another and even sharing one another’s burdens. Think of how much growth you would have experienced?
This year we want everyone in a LIFE Group. Get involved, start your own or give us ideas as to what you would like to see covered in a small group. What topic would it take for you to take time out of your busy life and seek to grow in God?
